Title: Intermitant heaters, Im cold!

Just bought my first golf, a Mk2 1988 1.6cl.  ::)
I have noticed that the heaters only blow warm every so often. When they do come on warm, it eventually blows cold a while later. Any Fixes??

What temp does the engine run at?

I am not an expert, but it could be a lot of things, sounds like it could be air pockets in the cooling system.

Check the bypass valve.

Bypass valve or trapped air. Funny how the heater problems have suddenly started to show themselves.  ;)
