As you guys know its not always easy putting the power down from a standing start or even in 2nd or 3rd, especially if you have stage 1, 2 or even 3 kind of power.
I have invested in decent tyres (Eagle F1's) but I would still lose traction, and under hard acceleration get wheel hop, which as you know can damage all kinds of engine / transmission parts. Now i know the key to getting power down is controlled acceleration (which im always trying to do), but with it being England and our wet roads, its not always easy.
So im finally getting around to buying / installing some handling mod to try assist with getting the power down on to the road.
Im starting off by adding the VW Racing mount (purchased from Wigit) which im hoping will really help tighten up and keep the engine / transmission much more firm and stable under accelerating and braking.

Then I managed to get the Super Pro Anti Lift Kit (S.A.L.K) from Alex @ AKS for a bargain. Once cleaned they looked like new and have a lifetime warranty on them. I know a load of people have done reviews on these, and they are rated very highly, so im hoping they also will also reduce wheel hop and help me get the power down.

Im installing both parts at the weekend (weather permitting) so the car should feel a ton better and nearly eliminate wheel hop, or at least 80% of it.
For the guys who are interested i will post my thoughts in the coming days on the installation, performance and the overall value for money to grip ratio.
Pictures of parts:

I have this car for 3 more years anyways, so i might as well make it as enjoyable as possible. On the plus side, I bought all the parts second hand (saving a fortune) and all can be sold on when the car is put back to standard (baring the map).
Win Win

Yeah im the opposite, Looking pretty can wait....I want the power and handling first
As im staying stage 1 for at least a year (saving for a clutch) i think a FMIC is a bit down on the mod list. Really needs a brakes upgrade next i think. Standard GTI's one are quite poor under heavy braking.

Well its gonna cost a fair bit more to upgrade the car to the R. anyone want to donate some money for the R. lol!

These sexy little engine mounts turned up today !!! Both VibraTechnics / VWR brand.
I thought in the picture they looked good, but I cant express enough how heavy (in a good way) and quality these mount are.
Picked them up with just 3000 miles on them, so they have been nicely bedded in for me. As you can see they look brand new with no signs of wear at all. Everybody says how mint they are and what a difference they make. These combined with SuperPro's A.L.K and VWR subframe mount should really help put the power down and give so much more feel up front.

Well they are all second hand, so at least i will miss out on most of the NVH. But should be a good gain in grip and feel
