Hey guys, I have a mk4 gti turbo which I love to bits however it has a problem which is baffling me and im hoping someone knows exactly what its is and can save me time and money.
What happens is it will not start sometimes, it will just keep turning over. I then have to leave it for about 20 mins and it will fire up perfectly and it wont happen again for about 2 weeks. This morning it cut out at the traffic lights so I pushed it to the side of the road left it came back 40 mins later and fired up no problem. I have checked battery and starter motor which seem fine, I just need some advice please cos its so bloody annoying.
Many thanks, Jamie

Get it scanned first ,it may have logged the fault.

does it have an iratic idle? (i.e. bounces?)

Thanks guys. The idle is fine. When it drives its lovely cant fault it, which is stopping me from throwing the towel in and getting rid of it.

Probably a sensor but as said above you will need to get it scanned.

had it diagnosed and its a crankshaft sensor. Thanks a lot for the advise guys much appreciated.
