Title: Dumpvalve question
Post by: Gary#turbo on 05 February 2014, 20:59
I no it sounds silly but I have a 007p on the gti ATM but it doesn't dump very load or dump when I rev at stand still
Is this the same 4 everyone else or does it need replacing
I would prefer a louder dump
I just like the noise lol

You need a cone filter to get any noise, and to get boost /dump pressure the engine needs to be under load

You wont get much boost pressure from just reving it,driving the car is putting the engine under load making the turbo work hard

I know AGU engines well welshdeans anyway when he had his 007p and a cone filter he got no sound from the dump yet my AUM even when reving sounds amazing and loud. But then again i got a bigger TIP and i have changed alot under the hood.

The car wony dump until its buily excess presure in the intercooler hence when i firat start reving the psssssh is not so loud but when i rev abit more, more and more pressure builds up in the intercooler then i get a louder psssshhhhh

A remap and cone filter will sound mint. mine sound like a roar /gunty sound when i pull away with a bit of throttle ,bit like having a better exhaust but mines standard and a nice load dumping sound.

I tryed k&n induction kit and it was crap. so i made my own out of a cheap kit off ebaybay and got a new smaller filter to fit in the gap, it sounded so much better....i love it. It did not sound or feal as good when it was down behind the bumper so had a idea of chopping it and place the filter here..
