Love the look of this car but is 142K miles too much?
I'm tempted to have a look at it and offer something like £1250.

Link doesn't work buddy
-
What's your price range buddy?
-
The link should Work... dunno why it isn't. Anyhow, my budget was 2000 but that might have to come down a bit as i'm using my Punto as a part ex. The car featured in the link is 1450.
-
If it has been looked after it should be ok.
-
It says only service history not full service history so id check that also I'd check if the timing belt and water pump have been changed and the engine mount bolts must also be changed if they have our they can snap in the block like mine did.
-
My 2.0slow is at 142k now and is quite and running well, when i first got it i replaced all leads, plugs, coolant etc just got to get round to changing the oil and filter
-
Looks fairly clean, wouldn't mind betting the rear wiper wash tube is snapped from the angle of the blade/arm though
-
you just have to sit and wait it out for a decent one, i spent a couple of months going on and off autotrader to find one.
picked mine up for £2600 with 59k on the clock + all the history.
-
Got mine, 1 owner from new, winter sports pack, AUM 87k on the clock FDSH £2900 and that was 2 years ago
-
Can buy mine if you like. 1.8T with 57k on the clock. Let you have it for £1500.
-
I paid £3k for mine 3 years ago with 1 previous owner, huge history and 50k on the clock. It now has 80k on the clock and if I stuck it back to standard I'd want about £1500 for it...not that I'm going to sell it

More like 4k to be honest, I'd never sell it as it is though so I'd see some of it back

I paid 900 for a y reg, fsh, 142k on clock, bit of cosmetic damage, drivers side sill dent, drivers side back wing dent & scrape, but engine is sound so cosmetic don't bother and it won't cost much to sortout.

I paid £750 for an Audi 1.8t 119k on clock no damage
And it passed its (legitimate) MOT no advisories

It was a gti he was asking after wasn't it ? :-X

Miles is mostly engine related and since it's technically an identical 20v turbo engine like in a GTi

Yeah i'm still looking. Waiting for the right one to pop up. Have put my Fiat up for sale now online. Was contemplating whether to try and sell or whether to use it as PX.

sell the fiat give yourself more money for a 1.8t and insurance

I have actually had some insurance quotes. And i was pleasantly surprised. They were lower than i expected, but then i suppose its not going to be too high for a 2001'ish Golf GTI with close to 100K on the clock and worth approx £1500/£1600.
-
I paid nearly 5k for mine lol
-
Unfortunately £5K is not within my rather tight budget.
-
That was 6 years ago though
