Hi All,
I'm new to the Gti Community and enjoying it! I purchased my Golf which is a 2008 GTi 2.0T Fsi a few weeks ago, I travelled over 1500miles over a month looking at a few Golfs and eventually found this, It has a full service history, 80k miles and I have just had a full service and inspection on the car today which came back with a clean bill of health!
I really enjoy driving the car its so much fun! Anyway the car wasn't nowhere near up to my standard of cleanliness when I purchased it so I took two days off last week and put in 14 hours of detailing so thought I would show you all a bit of my work so far....

I should mention that the car was Snowfoamed first, clayed, Cut with Meguiars Mirror Glaze, Auto Glym Deep Shine applied then a final coat of Auto Glym HD Wax.....Just incase you were wondering what I had done with my 14 Hours over two days!!!
Cheers Steve

Cracking job Steve nice car

Did you need to refine the finish at all after the 105? I've used 205 quite a bit to great effect but only used 105 on a couple of spots on occasion but it needed a little finishing afterwards due to how abrasive it is.

looks great, agree with Jimble above.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies, Yes 105 can be quite harsh but I done the whole car which has lifted all the swirl marks and light scratches, I didnt mention I then used 205 after the 105 then the Auto Glym! My previous car was a Black BMW and I used this method and had outstanding results!
The car is currently sat on the drive and the paintwork looks so deep with a great gloss finish as though the car is wet! I'm very happy with how it's looking...but I will be putting a lot more hours in- If i'm home early tomorrow all the wheels are coming off for a clean!
Cheers, Steve

Lot of work there mate! Crackin effort, the Megs "Twins" are great imo with a decent selection of pads i doubt you'd really need anything else for personal correction detailing?
-
great results and congrats on the new car. I think black really suited the MK5.

Thanks for the comments, The Missus came home today though and she has had a promotion with work which involves quite a bit of travelling - she gets a mileage allowance but not very practical for running around! As happy as we both are with the fantastic news of the job which she has worked hard towards unfortunatley I think the car will have to go up for sale very soon and the hunting for a diesel will begin   :undecided:
Until then the car will have a lot more hours put into it to get it up to my standard!!
I'll update the pics as soon as I have taken the wheels off for a clean, I've also decided to pull the interior out for a full clean!!

Great job mate. All your efforts will certainly make it a very attractive car to potential buyers when you come to sell it. Good luck!
