Title: universal ebay exhaust :|
Post by: AD1.8T on 02 February 2014, 19:11
Dont all hunt me down for suggesting such a thing but I really dont want to spend £££ on a miltek would one of these backboxes off of ebay be any good fitting wise i know it may be a pita but doable... I used to have a motorworld special on my old 1.8 focus it was too loud it just had a nice growl ! Will this do the same or will it be ridiculously loud ? Anyone got similer ? It says its a free flowing unrestricted back box so does that mean its like not having one at all ? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=151057800069

My local custom place is going to do me a 3" downpipe, Rocsha (Think thats how you spell it) Sports cat, and custom anni style 4" single exit and cut my Val for the tip for £750 with a lifetime garantee.

My aim to get it to sounds like this...

Anni is definitely bigger then 3"!
It's either 3.5" or 4" (100mm)

The anni milltek is 100mm tip.
The 4mo style tips are bigger than 3 inches (just - 80mm) so 4 inch tip would be fine.

Bigdee ... thats a little bit annoying I just sold my votex rear I could of choped it for this lol.

Im after a 4" anni style one. Aren't custom exhaust virtually the same as this universal one just I have to do the work to get it to fit ? The tip on that one is the ssme as a miltek aswell which is a bonus if it doesnt sound ridiculous then im all for a cheapy exhaust im not hunting power gains or anything just something that looks good on a anni valance without spending £400 on a miltek

It looks the same as a custom but its not the same, custom supplers use a better grade of stainless steel and will give a better note as they can make it sound however you want it too. Plus they come with lifetime guarantees so if it ever breaks its fixed free of charge.

this is on my fish-eye lens so looks a little larger but it looks amazing. It doesn't look too big, and it is 100% a 4" tip as myself and Baxxy measured it in my mates unit! haha

I've got the 3" eBay wonder if you fancy that?
Only getting rid as my gf has a daughter and we can't really go on long journeys as it's a little loud for her.
I love the sound on the other hand haha

I was quite happy buying one and still am, the same could be said of wheels tbf, why buy gen when you can buy reps which are just as good?

I've just decided to treat myself with a named brand I was happy to pay the price for and at 383£ for cat back and 50£ for my sports cat I think it's still cheaper than most of the stainless steel exhausts out there

I got quotes with sports cat custom jobby at over 700£, bargain bucket! Lol

Couldnt find any thing any edition mate and cheers to the rest of you for the input !

Ive decided to go the miltek route ..... my main problem is I dont want the rear to look crap whilst I save up for one so I looked around and demon tweeks do a 0% finance which most of you will frown upon but it basically saves waiting its £400 give or take for 12 months aslong as you pay atleast 30% up front I have £200 spare for car bits this month so the remaining £200 can be spread over 12 months if needed which works out at 16 a month ! The reason why this is usefull to me at the second is the next 3 months I have to pay insurence, valentine's sh!te, mot, and a 4 year anniversary with the mrs which is going to be costly as it involves a small overpriced shiny thing !!! Luckily tjough my bday is also next month so any monies I get for that can pay for the remainder !

Sound like a plan ?

You might as well do full miltek and get it over and done with mate sports cat n all. I've decided to buy a house instead of the ring of doom but don't tell the missus! She'd be pissed if she found out 15k+ went on 4 wheels instead of her finger! :lipsrsealed:

I think I bought my Milltek for £100 off one of the forums. Plus it was the 4mo style which was a bonus.

Ive already got the ebay 3" downpipe which reduces to 2.5 then 2.25 (I think) so that will need fiddling with eventually but I believe the miltek comes with with a reducer so that will be ok untill I get the downpipe adjusted accordingly.

Cheers barry but I need the anni style lol and brewey I know you can get them second hand for pennies but they never come up when you need them !

The ring of doom haha brilliant im in no position to be buying  a house anytime soon so thats no problem to me fortunately she doesnt mind me doing stuff to the car she kind of understands and tollerates it so thats a good thing !
