Title: De-wipered and de-badged
Post by: northeast_gti-t on 01 February 2014, 23:05
Haven't always been a liker of no rear wiper or badges  but as i got myself a decent condition tailgate which was badgeless i decided to remove the wiper also and see how it looked, now after a few days i really like how it looks even with a standard badge (which is staying) also like the rear spoiler which was the main reason for getting the tailgate also the glass has a slight tint too so that's another bonus  well after sorting out both the wiring looms i got it fitted along with two vgc doorcards....
Took a few general pics today

then found another use for a badge off the old tailgate

Yes like removing those GTI badges seeing as what's under the bonnet is an insult to the icon

I tend to concentrate more on whats in front of me.  it doesnt instantly get so mucky its zero visability so 90% of time you are right, that 10% you just utilise mirrors more same as if you drive a van!

I'm doing this as my rear wiper is worse than not having one at all. I can always see out of the back as I have major OCD and all dirt is immediately arrested.

I have no wiper on the back - I bought it like that.
I'd give anything to have a wiper back again. The rear window is dirty in days after a full wash :(
I even have mud flaps on to try and limit the dirt getting thrown up.

If MOT's, Tax, Insurance, general repairs, etc would just ease up I would buy the motor and arm!

Good luck on waiting for them to ease up  they want more every year

I have a wiper and motor when debadged mine but will be putting it back on soon as i am selling up otherwise would have tossed it your way
