Title: Please help my club
Post by: Cov golf on 30 January 2014, 22:33
Hi haven't been in the forum for a while but for all of you that are football fans please take the time out to help my football club as you may know how badly coventry city have been
Treated by there owners and made to play over 35 miles away from home and how the fa could have let this happen imagine if this was your club and how it would make you feel so if you could take the time to follow this link below we need a 100000 to do it then the owners will be bought before the government to answer too just like the phone hacking scandals and energy supply company's

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/59884

Fill this out mate tell your friends

Thanks in advance from cov golf aka Adam

As sad as a local clubs decline is, and as heartbraking it can be to happen to your club. This is not a problem for central government to deal with, also the petition is for consideration for parliamentary debate, not a judicial enquiry.

Football clubs are first and foremost a business, you may have an emotional investment. But the owners investment is financial. Coventrys problem, as with many other businesses, was crippling levels of debt.

I haven't particually been following this saga, but as I understand it Cov were tennants at the Ricoh, and owned no stake in it. They couldn't afford to pay the rent, or other bills (namely tax) and got a winding up order.

So they had two choices, liquidate and not exist at all. Move and try to rebuild.

It's unfortunate that the business you have an emotional investment in is going through hard times. But you aren't the first and won't be the last. Ask any Pompey or Luton fan, or the many clubs that just went to the wall.

Petitioning the FA and football league would likely yield better results.

Edit: stupid phone

You obviously haven't been following it mate we where tenants at the Ricoh that is correct my friend but the football club owners with held rent on purpose to force acl in to administration to pick up the ground on the cheap but this plan back fired on them because the council bought out the mortgage on the stadium to stop this happening and the became acl's creditors and stopped this from happening so now the have said what the council have done is illegal I don't know I'm not up on my business law but now that is all being dragged through the courts this can take years so because of all this sisu/ otium have moved us away from our home which makes no business sense at all gate are at an all time low at Northampton which they will be making massive losses and to top it off acl have said you can play at the Ricoh for free but sisu /otium said no why because they have no regard for the real fans as you can see it is not business it's a stupid spat that has gone to far this is what happens when an faceless hedge fund investment company that knows nothing about football gets involved in football this is why the government need to get involved and mate Tim fisher answer the questions he has dodged for far to long we don't evan know who owns the club this is why we need everybody's support the fa are just as corrupt they slowed all this to happen they are just as spineless all it took was a 1million pound bond off sisu as a guarantee that they will come back to coventry in 5 years if they don't they loose the million small change really that's all it cost to the fa for a franchise so it could happen to any club look what happend to Wimbledon packed up and moved to Milton Keynes the fa should have never let this happen spineless
