Hi guys,

hows it going?

Im a lil peed off with my N reg 8v "GTI" MK3 golf.

Its not what i imagined it to be, i KNEW i should have bought a vr6 !  >:(

Anyways, enough ranting, question time.

My mates got a celica gt4 jap import - 270 ish bhp.

I wanna match it, or at least come as close as i can, but stick to the mk3 body as i LOVE it !  It dint help when I shoved some 18" rims on !

what engines fit into teh mk3 golf eg audi engines.  Also thinking of vr6 engine and fitting turbo on.

Also what is the best place to buy stufff like this !

What did u expect it to be? surely u knew it was only 115bhp.  U want 270 buy a scooby.  Failing that an Audi S3 engine will fit thats 225 standard u can get more out of it, but it'll be dear.  Too much bhp will mean uprated brakes, would the gearbox suffice? S3 is 6 speed.
Sell it buy a VR6 take it from there, thats your best bet.

Vortech make a good supercharger for VR6, bolts straight on.

I cant sell the car at the moment, but Im open to an audi s3 engine idea with uprated brakes and gear box.

Because im fairly new to this, what sort of prices am I looking at here for :

a) vr6 engine

b)audi s3, gear box .

A TT/S3 engine, gear box fitted will cost you around ?7000 + VAT including a remap to 265+BHP, I am thinking of going for this conversion myself.

Instead of ?8200 for it, why dont you just flog your golf for ?3-?4k or something, save about ?2,500 and go buy an S3? ???

agree with vr6 on this (as usual!) max power has got to be the sh!test mag out, full of over the top paint jobs, cars 90% of the population could afford even if they got 5 and the bonus ball!, i used to buy it when i was a nieve young boy racer, ooohhh 12 years ago and then it was doing golf gtis etc and the other usual suspects in the hot hatch brigade but now???????????? well ou tof its depth, i think the only thing that sells it now is the pictures of 'comedy breasts' jordan and her mates posin on over the top cars to sell it, young 16-18 yr olds who havent got the bollocks to buy a porn mag will buy max power guarentee!
