Title: Door module fudged
Post by: 1.8Tgolf_Chris on 29 January 2014, 18:06
Got a mk4 golf 5 door, and my drivers door module has gone, doesnt tell the computer the doors open, door light doesnt work, but central locking works fine and the alarm doesnt go off so im in 2 minds to change it as i dont feel to competant to change this
Anyone fancy doing this for me at cost? as im sure it would be cheaper than VW etc lol

It's a pretty easy job, why not do it yourself and save some cash?

Mine has two doors that do the same thing, flipping annoying. If there is a DIY step to step could someone post it please

im sure you could service it with wd40 . My 2 front doors were the same but sometime the puddle light might come on so i had a idea  i sprayed wd40 in the lock as the sensor or what ever it is must be in there. Then got a hammer and big screw driver and put it inside the bottom bolt that holds the lock in and hit it a few time until the puddle light came on.

seems like a big job to get to the module? and i hate taking door cards off, previous cars once them door cards are off they always rattle when they go back on lol

Yes, if the CCM can't sense that the doors are locked properly it won't flash the door LED
