Title: Knocking noise
Post by: jman-gti aum on 29 January 2014, 15:25
So just swaped the golf for an s3 and now this happening got a s3 with a bam engine and noticed that its sounds like there is a loose bolt or some thing rattling around in the engine between 4 and 5 thousand rpm basically sound like a diesel lol but when not driven hard there is no sound the noise also comes back at about 6 and a half thousand revs could it be the bottom end or if that was the problem wouldn't it be marketing the noise all the time
thanks for any help
Should of just kept the golf lol

Got a feeling you have been had there bud, IMHO anyone willing to swap an s3 for a golf needs there head checked last s3 i looked at was 9k!

Sounds like the engine could possably need looking at.

Maybe for an 8P S3. As Barry says 8L S3's (which come with BAM engines) can be had for £2-3k.

Either way it sounds like the S3 isn't very healthy.
