Title: How do i make a VR6 go fast??
Post by: oozingrich on 29 August 2005, 00:52
Hi, I have got a '93 vr6 that is totally standard. I was wanting to keep it mostly this way except i was going to cut the cat convertor out and change the air filter to help it breath. My question is: should i replace the standard air filter with something like a K & N element or take that section of the box off completly and go for a Pod type filter, will a pod make a noticable difference?? I live in clean green NZ where there are no emission laws so no cat required!!
Any other tips to get a bit more power would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

just put your foot down!!

should be a quick car standard if not somethings wrong. obviously not 300bhp jap crap quick.
Yeah a straight throught de/cat full s/s system will help and switching to k&n or any filter will see a small incease, but depends what your expecting from the car. and depends how much your willing to spend.

 Or ya could bolt a Vortech supercharger straight onto it, but mines rapid with a cat bypass and filter....
