whats the best way to fit a boost guage in the air vent mount? and how do i get the hose into there? do i have to drill through the back of the vent and just feed through?
does the vent need to be constantly off or can i have the vent on if its cold? do i need to wrap the boost hose in anything so it doesent get too hot or cold? same with the guage?
also what size tpeice is it i need for the engine side of things anybody know?

Pretty sure mine is 5mm internal diameter for the vac hose - Diesel though.

I am keen to do something like this soon. I loosely cut the vent so it fits around the gauge, a little bit woobly but does the job and looks the part...But only from a distance :lipsrsealed:

been looking at those vents but £40 odd seems a bit much imo, know a few people handy with plastics so may be able to get them to knock something up for me using my pod, cut it then plastic weld something on the back to give the slats a bit of support.

Answered your own question really...
As for getting the hose in, follow the bonnet release cable. Straightened out coat hanger did the trick for me.

Still clueless as to weather I can have vent on if I put boost guage in there. Or if I have to keep it off. Or wrap the pipe and guage in some insulation to stop it getting too hot or cold?
Also another quicky. Heard some people say you need a no buzz t peice. Others say only diesels need this and a normal plastic t piece is fine... Anybody able to clear that up.

I don't use a no buzz tee piece on myyyy diesel....I have read about it some where.
a 52mm gauge fits in the vent pretty well, only sticks out a a little bit, but it doesn't loook out of place.
Trim the vent slats around it.
