I've been given permission to spend some cash on air tools for the car club in work. I do have a budget, so the likes of snap-on, blue point etc are probably a bit beyond it. That said, it needs to be good quality stuff and robust enough to stand up to likely abuse. With that, I don't want SIP, Sealey and other such "budget" brands if they won't last 5 minutes. I've seen a few Ingersoll Rand items that I believe are decent, but if anyone has any experience or can advise on what would be a decent mid range manufacturer it would be much appreciated. Equally if anyone knows a good place to buy that would be great, but it would have to be a registered outlet with an online store and direct phone number and based in the UK really.

Sean, nothing wrong with SIP, Sealey or the likes of Chicago Pneumatic, as it's only a motor club, and not a full time workshop where they are used all day every day.

Thanks Lewy. Machine Mart offer decent forces discount, but there are still places that do better quality stuff at about the same price even with discount. I've got just short of a grand to spend, but I need to get a few other bits too including a 20 ton free standing press, so that's gonna take a fair chunk of the budget. Machine Mart are twice as expensive for this as other places I have found, so I was looking at alternative places for the air tools as well. I'm gonna pop into Sultan Car Club in the next couple of weeks actually. I've just taken over as Manager of ours, so I need to bring it up to a decent standard. Looking to see what procedures and contacts that have there at a proper running full time club to get some ideas.

Oh? I thought it was pretty good there. Thought with it being full of clankies and woo's, they'd have a decent idea of what's what and good contacts carried on from the past. That said, Drake is pretty pants and most are clueless, and that's run by Stokers............ :undecided:
