Title: compression test
Post by: davidgtrr34 on 25 January 2014, 15:22
I have no power and a knocking noise. the noise gets louder when I rev it and stops when I let off the throttle.
I done a compression test and these are the results

cylinder 1 - 35psi
cylinder 2 - 30psi
cylinder 3 - 30psi
cylinder 4 - 30psi

the car still starts and runs.
can anyone help?

Those figures seem a tad low, very low. I'm surprised the engine is even running. Looks like its time for a rebuild, new engine or new car

Those values are too low to be real. I'd try doing again with a different gauge.

Working order is approx 12.5 bar.
Wear limit is 7 bar.

For anything to be massively below that the timing has to be out, allowing one of the valves to be open.

Ill test again with a different kit. The timing seems to be fine
