hi I have a golf gti 1.8t 1999 agu. is this the right sensor http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-COOLANT-TEMP-TEMPERATURE-SENSOR-GOLF-MK4-PASSAT-POLO-/171011609436?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27d116135c thank you

Yes that's it but for the love of god don't buy them from eBay go to Vw or Tps and only use gen parts
-
I can do genuine for £20 (£3 p&p) or Febi for £15 (£3 p&p) (I guess you need the blue colour?)
careful of some ebayer's/online sellers as they say genuine but they don't mean genuine VW
-
make sure you check if you have the square plug or the rounded one my 99 gti needed on and I bought the square one before I checked the plug as mine is a v reg it has the 2000 onwards engine with the updated plug,as above don't buy cheap I bought one from euro car parts and it's sh!te make sure you buy a febi bilstein better quality

I'll have you know that I changed my temp sensor again earlier and managed to not get coolant in my mouth
It's also worth noting that I used a cheap sensor last time and it lasted less than a year, genuine one fitted now
