Title: Dmf and clutch help
Post by: joshstanvw on 21 January 2014, 19:54
Hi all a mate of mine has a bora pd130 and the dual mass is dead I was wondering if the DMV and clutch from a 2.3 v5 would fit (v5 is 5 speed) needing a definitive answer as this could save £££s and make me a couple beer tokens lol thanks in advance

I believe a VR6 clutch with G60 fly is a direct fit, and can be had for £200 as a sachs kit with 4yr/40,000 mile warranty. Other SMF conversion kits can be had cheap but you may be likely to change it again next year. I know they fit the PD110,100 and VE100 TDIs, cant see the 130 being different? The PD100 that i know has the sachs kit fitted is now running 140bhp and 300lb/ft with no problems.

Wrong again

The 5 speed boxes use a 224mm clutch

The 6 speed boxes use a 240mm clutch

The 130 has a 6 speed box

Ah, i assumed a 5 speed with the V5 being 5 speed was a comparison to a 5 speed PD. Was it only the Passat that got a 5sp box?....

The PD100 has a 5 speed so thats why the VR6 clutch fits

It gets pricey when you have a 6 speeder

90/ 100 / 110 / 115 (some) got the 5 speed box

You didnt need to; all PD130's were fitted with the 6 speed box

I owned a Golf PD130 and know how expensive a clutch can be.....

If he isnt going to be running silly power then a standard OEM clutch will be fine

Darkside do so upgraded good kits and contact Boneybradley on here from OEM Parts as he might be able to do you a good deal on standard kits :)
