The GTD is my first ever brand new car, and so thought i'd do things right from the start. Knowing I was picking up the keys last week, I got the car booked in with Marc of Heavenly Detail for over the weekend.
He had the car from Friday night until Saturday night and has done a truly amazing job with it. He stripped the paintwork right back, removing all the shipping contaminants, and the LifeShine 'gloop' the dealer had so lovingly (read badly) applied.
As the car had been back for some bits, they had sadly cleaned it again - seemingly with a brillo pad - so there were already a number of swirl marks in the paintwork and the whole thing just felt dull to the touch.
Marc, has machined the whole car and removed every single teeny tiny imperfection. Coated it in C1, then built up the protection with a number of different waxes. The glass was machined, then nano sealed, with the wheels receiving a similar treatment to protect them.
The finish is truly spectacular. The whole thing feels like glass and there is not one imperfection anywhere. The paint looks like liquid, and water immediately beads up on contact.
Not only will this give me additional layers of protection from the elements, but will make my weekly wash considerably easier.
I wasn't able to get many great shots due to the tight space, but here's a few to give you an idea of the finish. I'm so chuffed with it, and SO glad I didn't just leave the LifeShine crap on.

Lovely Macca, I'm definitely going to be in touch with Mark to get mine done after your recommendations. Now get your DSLR out and take some proper shots

Looks amazing! Marc is a very well known and respected detailer! He did a thread on his old Astra VXR Nurburg Edition and his fastidious attention to detail is incredible! He's a concours judge for the annual Waxstock detailing festival too so pretty well qualified to produce mega results!

That looks fantastic. Where is he based?
-
Maidstone, but I believe he can travel.
The finish is absolutely flawless, I very highly recommend him :)
-
Thanks for that. Ill give him a call when my car eventually turns up.
-
How much did you pay for that detail? Looks great!!
-
Looks awesome  Have you got his contact details
-
Very nice that!
-
You can email Marc - Info@heavenlydetail.co.uk
He charges £350 a day. My car was just a day, plus I paid more for him to apply the C1 all over.
Tell him Macca sent you and he'll look after you :)

Hi guys. Just had my car detailed by Rob Leys at "Gleammachine" in Essex (http://gleammachine.net/index.htm). He's done a fantastic job and I would highly recommend his services.
Paintwork was treated with PolishAngel Invincible 9H Primer, followed by 2 coats of PA Cosmic 9H Glasscoat, and finally topped with PA Rapidwaxx. The interior was also fully treated and cleaned (Leather, plastic & carpets)

I'd also highly recommend Stu of Vehicle Detailing Services for anyone in the East Anglia area.

Isn't there a separate detailing thread?
