Hey,

Bit of an odd one, but did the mark2 gti have a 7 bar grill in 84? Am I right in thinking it was just the cl that had the red trim with 7 bars?

they did have a 7 bar grill, not sure if it was with red though? my mate had a 7 bar chrome one that was on his mums car when she bought it brand new.............

oh hers was a 5 door gl, with all the chrome window trims etc

i think most of the early early mk2's had a 7 slat grill, with a red out line must have been a gti grill... most had twin spots but some early early mk2 gti's had a red out lined grill with single lights.....

well from what ive seen and been used too.....

My MK2 has a 7 bar grill with the red outline & the inner spots. the 7 bar looks meaner with an eyebrow spolier on it  :cool:

All the early MK2s had a 7 slat grill, they changed to the late 5 slat type in 87 or 88 :)

Only GTIs had the red surround, and I think CLs & GLs got a chrome surround.  Hope that covers it :)
