Hi guys, looking at getting a MK7 GTD, but rather like the MK6 GTD I've got now I feel the look of the car is let down by the boring rear diffuser.
On my MK6 I eventually fixed the problem by finding a diffuser that had a GTI style to it but fitted the standard tailpipes (kinda similar to this: http://i.imgur.com/HHKLD.jpg)
Is there anything similar available for the MK7? I want something that looks as OEM as possible but more exciting than the plain standard GTD one!
Cheers,
John

I've thought this for a while, that whilst the GTD gets the full front end from the GTI, the rear bumper is bog standard Golf 7 (pretty much the same as an SE, GT etc). When those guys fit chromed tailpipe tips (as a lot of them do), from the rear (apart from the LED lights), the rears looks very similar. Would have been nice if VW had given us a honeycombed rear diffuser identical to the GTI, but with the cut-out on one side for the dual pipes. Having the different exhaust exits between the GTi and GTD would still have left enough differentiation between them ?
The Part that Graham showed is from the new R-Line models (not sure if we get that in the UK). So the question is, does this fit the GTD bumper, or is there a very slight difference in profile between the GTD units and SE / GT ones (if so it's so small as to be unnoticeable).
**edit**
Just answered my own question. Went onto the Ebay.de and there's quite a few rear bumpers from the R-Line models for sale, so I grabbed one of the better photos and compared it to a photo of the rear of my GTD (from a very similar angle), and the bumpers are a totally different shape as are the diffusers. So the R-Line ones won't fit unless you change the whole bumper.

buy one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Volkswagen-VW-Golf-Mk7-GTi-Rear-Bumper-Diffuser-Trim-2013-5G6807568-B-/201013642859?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ecd58c66b#ht_8000wt_1161
and then make me an offer for my old exhaust

I'm not quite up-to-date on the GTD facts, but isn't this a bit different then what the GTD gets as standard?

Thats a god cheap find, no doubt it may need wrapping or spraying if you want it proper black but still

That could be an idea. Would you accept £5 for your exhaust? ;)
I wonder if it's possible to modify a gti diffuser to fit the gtd exhaust, as I like the way it continues under the bumper to the back of the wheel.

That's the best I've found so far, and it's literally oem. Good price too, but looks a bit silver!

Just don't like the fact that it has a big hole in it (for a tow bar). With the amount of crap the rear end of the Golf suck up, I guess a lot of it would go straight into this. Would be OK if VW also sold a cover plate to go over the hole ?
