Hey Guys some of you may remember the deal I got from a breaker on ebay when i spotted 312mm Calipers and carriers from a Mk1 Audi TT for £30 delivered! :lipsrsealed:
Anyhoo when they arrived they looked like this...

Now I did plan to just buy upgrade my front discs from 288 - 312mm by installing the carriers only and be done with it but looking at my brakes currently on the car and the fact that my brakes feel like they will barely stop a fait uno, I thought well I suppose this is the time to do it all in one go.
So I decided I was going to have a go at fully stripping the brakes and refurbing them myself, replace the calipers and carrirers (Yes i know my car has the same calipers) but with them being off the car I can ensure they are fully painted/refurbished (My OCD kicking in there)
At the same time I thought id get new discs front and back, new pads front and back and get the brake fluid bled and replaced as I have no idea if/when it was last done. And get the 312mm splash guards which TPS kindly imported from Germany for me :D
Anyhoo below is everything all together, just need to book it into my local garage to get it all on, might have the gearbox oil changed while im at it and I am also considdering replacing the brake lines for good measure, what you all think about that?

good work
Can you not fit these yourself? would save a lot of dollar
Its a very simple job with basic tools
Gearbox oil again is a doddle. May as well do PAS fluid while there. mine was disgusting

When bleeding the brake fluid on the Mk4 golfs you need to use Vagcom to bleed it it also bleeds the ABS pump, failure to do this will brake the master cilender (so im told) and one day i'll press the break and nothing.....
MY PAS fluid was changed 2 months ago along with an entirely new steering rack
Its booked in to my local trusted garage hes only charging me £60 :)

£60 sounds pretty reasonable. Saves you the time and hassle!
Good work

My thoughts exactly :)

Not strictly true. The pump only needs vagcom if it goes dry. I didnt need it to just change the fluid.
£60 is a very good price though. Im picking up the Pagid front set up from ECP tonight. 50% sale now back on!
