Trying to remove the original Sony Tape player from my MKII Golf. The right hand side (IF you sitting in the car) has a clip. Which allows you to pull that side out. But the left hand side dont. And it wont budge and i cant get it out :|. Jammed a knife down there, seems nothing is down there holding the headunit onto the cage.
When i bought the car there was 2x U metal things, tried them down the side too but no joys

lol. my sony was a slag to get out.
Even with the keys to release it. I broke the mechanism that lets you attach the facia trying to pull it out. It was a case of using a flat head screwdriver to level it out.

I cant pull it any harder cause its pulling the dash out too :(

you can't remove the dash surround without removing the headunit first. unlike in a mk3 where you can with 4 screws lol.
