Title: Passenger side doors not unlocking
Post by: markos on 14 January 2014, 23:09
hey everyone, i'm new to the forum and also new to my golf gti mk5... just picked it up today

i'm having problems with the passenger side doors, both front and rear. when i press unlock on the keyfob, only the drivers side doors unlock. i can unlock the passenger side doors manually once inside by pressing the unlock button on the drivers door but obviously would like all doors to unlock when i hit the key fob.

does anyone have any ideas what i'm doing wrong or if there's anything potentially wrong with the locks on the passenger side... it seems weird how both front and rear are affected

thanks!

Is it both driver's side doors? You'll find in a 5 door one press opens just the driver door, a second press within a few seconds unlocks the rest of the doors. Certainly that was the case with my previous 5 door. It's such security thing to ensure someone can't jump in the back of your car if you're alone.
