So is anyone else expecting their build next week? I still have the vague tracker message but based on other threads it looks like everything should go ahead as planned.
-
I posted a message on the BW3 club after I had visited my dealer following conflicting tracker results.
My GTI is scheduled for build next week with a projected delivery end of February.
-
Are you buying from the mainland and then taking it back across? Which island do you live on? I'm actually looking at visiting my friend on Guernsey around my expected collection date. I might even fit the trip down south in with a return trip via Kent to collect it.
-
Mine should be being built this week (week commencing the 13th). Originally the tracker showed this but recently started showing "Your order has been confirmed for production. Please contact your retailer for further information."
I got an email from the dealer last week to confirm that it was still scheduled for this week.
A few people who had GTDs scheduled for this week seem to be reporting the same issue with the tracker.
Aim is to pick it up 1st March!

Climb_Ne: I'm in Jersey. Collecting the car here. The local dealer covers both islands and comes under the VW UK umbrella.
The spec is UK.
Enjoy your stay on the sister island and the trip home in the new car.

Well it appears the tracker is working properly again and now even with 2014 dates. I'm still confirmed for BW4.
-
Yes, the tracker site went offline for a while then returned with a build date of 19/1/14.
Which model did you order and when?
-
I ordered a God through Did in the last week of August but was the Friday so I don't think it was processed until the following week. We'll build week begins today so let's see what happens to the tracker.
-
Anybody got to stage 4, "Build in proress" yet?
-
No change for me yet. I'm beginning to think mine is just going to skip to in transit on Sunday.
-
For me at least the tracker is now working in a linear fashion.
It's Sunday and the update is stage 4 " Build in Progress".
So, in theory another 4 weeks wait.
-
My tracker has also updated to this state. Perhaps it will move on throughout next week as someone on the bus thread has reported the tracker updating several times in one week.
-
I have now updated to the first stage of in transit. Given the 4 week estimate it looks like it might be beneficial to wait the extra week for the 14 plate.
-
Still at stage 4, Build in progress.
-
Tracker still showing Build in progress so not too reliable.
Dealer advised that my GTI is in Belgium awaiting the ship to UK dodging the storms.
He reckons delivery end of the month.
-
Mine is at in transit 10 days at the moment but I plan to wait until March as I'm in Guernsey next week then there's just a week until the new plates.
-
Do you know what port you are shipping to? I have been tracking the shipping and there have been around 4 ships doing the Emden Sheerness run in the last week so the weather doesn't seem to be causing much interruption.
-
My BW4 GTD is with my dealer in Ireland. He says I should have it by the weekend.
-
The dealer said my car was in Antwerp, Belgium awaiting a ship.
Not sure how I would find out which ship it would be loaded onto. Would the dealer know, or does one have to contact VW for that information?
-
I only managed to track the potential ships using advice from this forum looking out for ships named city of ...... or ...... highway that were docked in emden. The online maritime trackers usually update to their next destination just before they depart emden. It might be similar named ships going via Antwerp.
My tracker has just updated to at the dealer.
-
Well, it's crossed the North Sea as the tracker says " arrived in UK, should be with the dealer within 7 days".
So, not long to wait now, just another ferry trip down here.
-
you will enjoy and smile every time you drive it-its well worth the wait
