Title: main beam bulbs

hi there any ideas of which main beam bulbs to go for ive only had halfords brilliance ones in for 6 months rubbish . Which ones are you guys using much appriecated must order them tonight many thanks

rubbish mate burnt out after 6 months,tried to get a refund wouldnt budge

If I remember correctly from when I had a Mk V, both dipped and full beam are H7s.  I changed the original dipped beam to Philips XtremePower bulbs (+80%) which were one of the best around at the time (5 yrs ago!) and they were much brighter and whiter with no glare. They outlasted my Mk V of 3 years and then lasted for another year and a half in my Mk VI (yes - I changed them over!!).  When they eventually went, I replaced them with Osram Nightbreaker plus bulbs (+90%) which are slightly brighter again and still going strong after a year and a half (of heavy use).

I see there's now a new Nightbreaker - Unlimited which is supposedly even brighter but I have no experience of its longevity.
