Title: £150 added value?
Post by: Mk1Macca on 13 January 2014, 18:02
Due to the car needing a bit of paint on the sill, I suggested having the sill protectors fitted by way of some kind of compensation.

The dealer has said that should be doable, or anything else to a similar value of £150.

Would you go for the protectors, or is there anything more exciting on the parts list up to this value? :)

Have you got a picture of these sill protectors? Do you know if they are just film or actual metal/plastic?  There's these film ones but seems expensive for film!

Aside from those, the "Cargoniser" for the spare wheel recess is quite cool;

But then you'd have to make up the balance elsewhere...

It's just a film. The valve caps look kinda cool, but other than that, i'm stumped.

I've seen some nice fabric key rings for the GTI/GTD, but my dealer had no idea where they came from.

I wouldn't bother with the valve caps. I had some cracking ones on my TT and within a month they had been nicked  :cry: :cry:

I am definitely having the "Film type" sill protection fitted to mine. I have had it applied to both my Scirocco's and its really hard wearing and still looks like brand new.

Surely it's cheaper to get clear vinyl applied by a local signmaker than pay list price from VW then have to pay fitting?

I won't be paying for fitting  :wink:
