Hi folks, well the new gti is already causing issues haha, ive got clutch slippage in 5/6gear so it looks like the clutch is on the way out.
Im looking for just a standard OEM replacement, as apart from a potential stage1 remap, im not looking to put silly power through it. What sort of money should i be looking for, both the fit, and the part costs?
Also, is it likely a replacement flywheel will also be required? the car is on 89k and i believe its the original clutch (although would have to check the paperwork to confirm).
If anyone knows a decent VW garage near leamington, that would also be a bonus!

Flywheel would be recommended!
Personally I would be tempted to put 1 better than standard in it. Even with a Stage 1 it may slip again and then your back to square one.

What sort of money are we looking at for an uprated clutch?
As the car is covered under warranty (bought from dealer yesterday), i may see if they'll come to the party, even though its a wear/tear part, its not like ive had chance to wear it out, so they sold it in poor condition.
Worth a go anyway lol

If you have just bought it then definitely get it replaced by them, yeah it's wear and tear but not in a week. It was sold with a clutch that needed replacing, period! If it was a few month down the line then they could argue but yesterday. This will be done for FREE so you will just have to accept the standard clutch and make sure the flywheel is changed I'm sure they wouldn't skimp but its recommended to do both when changing the clutch so make sure this happens!
I think the flywheel is about £140 I nearly had mine done a few months back I just phoned andrew page and they quoted the prices over the phone. All in with labour your looking at about £800- £1000
Also don't forget you have your 30 day 1000 mile no quibble exchange. If they don't agree then chuck them the keys back, balls in your court!
