Hello all
After giving someone a lift recently, I noticed that whatever coat they'd been wearing has left two small, but very noticeable indentations in the leather on the back of the passenger seat. Look like marks made by metal studs or eyelets.
Thought they might just disappear over time but 2 weeks later, they are still there. Any suggestions on how to get them out?
Thanks

Yeah, it's really annoying. Can't really start refusing to give people lifts on the basis of them wearing harmful clothes
I'm going to try this method first:
Soak clean cloth in very hot water (not boiling) and lay over indentation then roll with a tennis ball or back of spoon.
It's supposed to stretch the fibres which will then hopefully shrink back to original size when dry. Can also try this but using a 3:1 solution of isopropyl alcohol and very hot water. Need to use a good leather conditioner afterwards to replace lost oils. If that doesn't work then I'll give it a blast with handheld steamer to see if that has any effect.

On cloth seats, I've used an iron and a wet tea towel to steam them out. It works a treat on carpets too, where you've got indents from your furniture. I'm not sure I'd risk that method on leather tho'.

A steamer may lift the leather a bit?

I wouldn't risk using an iron on leather.
Yesterday, I tried the hot cloth, tennis ball combo (hockey ball in this case - live next to a hockey club and gets loads in garden, knew they'd come in useful one day) Additionally I gave it a blast with the steamer. Indents are about 70% reduced, so think with another go, it should do the trick.
Only slight annoyance is that the studs or whatever have actually marked the leather so even when the indentations are gone there will still be some marring! Just have to live with it.

I live next to a hockey club and
Littlebourne Road?
A sort of step relation of my wife used to play there and we had to go and watch once, when we were staying at my Father-in-Laws near Brenzett.

Yes, that's the one. Polo Farm Sports Club - Hockey, cricket, tennis, croquet - the posher sports, no hooligans
Have lived here about 12 years now, right next to the artificial hockey pitch. Floodlights - best security lights ever!
