Right, I know this is a really stupid question, I've had the car for a year now and I'm not sure if I'm opening the fuel filler cap right. . . How should I be doing this!?
-
Push it in and it will spring open far enough for you to get hold of and open completely
-
Nice one, That's how I've been doing it, but it takes some force to push it in to open it ... My mate tried doing it before, he had a leon and I think that had a button to open the cap ... it just dawned on me that I might have been forcing it for the past year haha!
-
As above you just push it and it springs open. Similar to glass fronted cabinet doors as its the same type of catch.
My leon has a button that pops the flap.
-
It might be a bit broken. Mines a little stiff sometimes, you have to push in the right place but when I had it in for a service they said the push button is broken and if I wanted to have it fixed, then they quoted £150, err no you alright it works good enough for me
-
£150 .... NO CHANCE. Who makes these prices up! Nice one!
