Hi Guys.....
Has anyone had any problems with fitting De-cats on the (ARZ Engine code) 2002 1.8 Turbo Golfs in regards to MOTs or little flashing lights on dashboards...Or is it safer with the Sports cat and if so what Cell is the best as im a thicko when it comes to this sort of thing
Also.........
If anyone lives in Wales....Best place to go
Cheers

unless your friendly with your MOT Tester you will have problems at MOT time. i.e you have to have a cat fitted to pass your mot.
i think the higher the cell the better the sports cat is, but i cant remember off the top of my head. if it was me and i could afford it id always go sports cat.

Cheers for the info.....Does the decat throw any lights on ?
-
Not sure but I thought a std cat was 400 cell and sports are 200 or even 100 cells are restrictive (I may have the wrong end of the stick)

It can do.

The numbers are all to do with how restrictive the cat is. The lower the number of cells the higher the emissions. A 100 cell probably would not pass an mot as it's not restrictive enough for the emissions side of things but obviously will give more flow to the exhaust system. To save hassles you're best off with a 200 cell. That's what's in milltek downpipe/ sports cats.
