With all this rain we've had the Golf has sprung a leak and it's a big one. I emptied out about a litre of water from the footwell yesterday and I've got about the same today
I can't find anything obvious and searches have thrown up all sorts of ideas from the pollen filter (not likely as it's only the rear) to the sunroof (if I had one)
Has anyone had this and what were their solutions? I want to rid the car of the water as it's annoying having to bail out every day plus I can't be doing with the condensation. I've got a fan heater running in there to dry it out now
One thing I am going to try at the weekend is resealing the window mech panel as I had this off in the summer to replace the window runner...

You damaged a sill/door didn't you? Checked the door is still sealing properly?

copied from the other water thread
have you had your regulator panel off? check that its all sealed still. both of mine leaked, the first i didnt know you had to reseal i thought the rubber would provide a seal, the second i resealed with butyl tape but it came un sealed when a bit of water was in the door and freezed causing the panel to push away...

Just on my break at work so I thought I'd pull the panel off and it's soaking behind it. So I've half pulled it off and run some weather sealant tape (like strong blue tac) round the bottom half so this should hopefully stop it.
I'm leaving the door card off as we're meant to get a lot of rain tonight so I can see if it's solved it. Definitely found the source though :afro:

check the rubber seal where the bonnet cable goes through the firewall

Threw it down most of the night last night and no sign of a leak :afro:
The door panel I fitted on there was distorted with some of the rubber seal breaking off in my hands so with a bit of persuading with a hammer it's sealing properly where it needs to along with the sealant tape I've added
Will be sticking a dehumidifier in there over the weekend along with a heater to finally get rid of all the condensation that's been building up

Just noticed I got the same issue in mine. Serious case of leakage
What did you reseal and where? Any pics?
