it's a scorpion and has all 3 silencers, gti 8v btw

could be unburnt fuel igniting in your exhaust because of your sports camshaft having more valve overlap.

that was before the camshaft and it doesn't do it now that I've fitted it

You should go back to spitting flames. Did you get the mix and timing done after fitting the cam. It's just unburnt fuel.

I followed Johnny's guide but I don't have an exhaust has analyser so I done his rough version
