hi guys need some help my block has gone up the shoot well not completely, i have bent the conrod on cylinder No.4:( Im looking at getting a second hand AUM block weather it be second hand or reconditioned or just get mine refurbed or buy one thats refurbed. but all this being well I also have no idea where I can get it fitted!
I was wandering if anyone could advise which way would be the cheapest or if anyone has any recommendations on where to take it to have work done or the new block fitted, you hear so many stories of bad work, dodgy warentee's and sting alongs.

I wouldn't replace the block, I'd inspect the bores and if they are good I'd replace the rods and go steel instead of
fitting another block with standard rods.
-
how much will this set me back though? im just thinking once i start taking it all apart and stripping down it might be a snowball effect?
-
Depends what rods you use and who is doing the work.
-
tbh if it was me i would be inclined to do the work myself and get the sump and head etc off as it can be done engine in situ and inspect the bore and big end pin then source a rod and swap onto the piston or get a short engine which would be possibly cheaper than a full engine ie you get the block ,crank, pistons etc then use your head sump etc means abit of work but its all do able shame your so far away as i would liked to have done the work for you and helped a fellow forum member out.

I have a set of standard rods here I would sell for £40
