Mine too JB GTI, still showing "Your order has been confirmed for production. Please contact your retailer for further information".

I am led to believe from reading previous threads that before you see it 'build in progress' you will more than likely see it jump to 'in transit'.

I know I still have a while until I receive the car (1st March until the 14 reg) but it feels like Christmas all over again, the wait is killing me.....

Hello everyone,

This is my first ever message!
I actually qualify for a BW4 club rather than this one, but would like to say that I too have had strange jumping arounds of the tracker site. I ordered a GTI early December and the first notification on the tracker was "2" ( with the factory). A week later, i.e. mid December, it jumped straight to "4" with the little robot animated. Then a few days later, it jumped back to "3" with a build week of 20/1/13! That stayed up for three days then changed to the current message which others have had, which is "order confirmed, contact dealer".

So, this morning, popped into the local dealership and he logged onto their version of the tracker. He showed me the screen which confirmed the build week as starting 20/1/2014. Three other GTIs are on order at my dealer, with mine having a predicted delivery of mid-to-late February.
Hope this helps others waiting for updates.

J
No. Not bothered as such. Just curious. My dealer did confirm to me last week that his system said it was being built this week and that's good enough for me but he also let slip that the tracker is only around 90% accurate as otherwise it would spoil the call from them to let you know your car has arrived when the tracker still shows in transit for example.

I was BW2 and throughout the week I got the same message on the tracker.  Then last weekend it jumped past the 'Build in progress' (having never actually been on that stage) to 'In transit'  Just a quirk of the tracker?? Fingers crossed!

I have just had a look at shipping details and done a bit of detective work it looks like mine could be on a ship called Isar Highway which left Emden yesterday and is currently just off The coast at Grimsby.

I used these sites.

The  vessels that I've heard ship vessels are:

1) Main Highway (currently: en route to CUXHAVEN, Germany)
2) Isar Highway (currently: GRIMSBY-> ZEEBRUGGE)
3) City of Paris (currently: TYNE)
4) SCHELDE HIGHWAY (currently: Grimsby -> Emden, arriving 6pm on 25/1/2014)

Anyone know of any others?

10 days to dealer - mine is prob on the boat!

(Although it lokos like there is something wrong with the site as all dealer email addresses have been replaced by a single gmail address, so no idea if it is correct!!!!!)

It seems that the SCHELDE HIGHWAY will dock in Emden tonight having come from Grimsby. I wonder if they update the tracker when it is going on the next boat?

I can't see any ot the other ships that they usually use going from Emden to Grimsby at the moment.

Still showing 'In Transit' for me... God knows whether it has been shipped or actually in the UK now. My dealer has told me an ETA delivery of 17-01-13? That would be 4 weeks from build week.
Either way, as long as I can get it first week of March with shiny new 14 plates i'll be happy...

Title: Re: BW3 Club
Post by: matt2 on 29 January 2014, 12:27
My dealer just emailed to say it was on the boat and did I want it before March.

I'll take it next week but only if it has 14 plates on it ;-)

For anybody whose car is on a ship to Grimsby, I think that it will probably be on either the Neckar Highway or African Highway (both due at Grimsby tomorrow 30/1/2014).

The free 7 day insurance is with Allianz (you may have seen all the blue Allainz advertising at all of the F1 races), the same company that do 7 day cover for BMW and MINI.

Same for me. They are delivering it on a transporter to my house on 28th February. Then I can look at it for a day

Yes with the '14 plate on it - but with strict instructions not to drive it, however, as I'm working from home that day, I'll be gazing at it out of my study window .....

Are any of your cars that are being delivered on the 28th lease cars by any chance or bought straight from dealers?

I'm buying this one myself - via a broker (Carfile) - but the dealer is delivering direct .... My company car scheme is not biased to high performance petrol cars - and neither is BIK Tax when you add lots of lovely toys to bump up the price!
I've worked out it's now significantly cheaper (for me) to take the cash and "self fund" - just changing them every 18-24 months! :)

Now been advised it is now in the UK at Grimsby Port  and can take 10-14 days to reach the dealer? Hope its sooner than that...

Hi Dan Burnley, Mine was stuck at Grimsby for 18 days …. However it was over Christmas & New Year. Don't worry, it's usually more like 7 days, sometimes even sooner. Are you wanting it registered 1st March?

Hi Gina, yeah hopefully it arrives quickly.

Yes I'm wanting 1st March registration. I have sold my current car and it will be going on the 3rd of March, so need my new GTD by then..... :embarrassed:

Make sure you apply some pressure to the dealer to ensure you get an  early delivery. It isn't your fault the car was held up.

*Snigger* The service or warranty packages might be better compensation if the car is late!

Usually dealerships are quite hectic and things are perhaps a little more slapdash than usual ... or can be!

Yeah - I thought that might be the thinking. I've got a one hour slot to go and pick the car up, so hopefully enough.

Oh the pain! I'll be surprised if you don't really enjoy it though .....

I'm wondering if I wouldn't prefer the Bridgestones - I love them on my Porker. (I have the Conti's on my GTi).  :undecided:
