Title: Front ARB bush size for mk2 GTi
Post by: zebedee on 31 December 2013, 16:39
Hi all.
Just about to polybush the motor using Powerflex Black bushes.
The burning question is the sizes il need for the,
Front arb bush
Front arb mount
And the front arb eye bolt.
As it stands, everything on the motor is standard.
She is a 1990 8v GTi
Cheers.

the standard anti roll bar should be 18mm diameter. tbh I don't think polybushes are any good on the anti roll bar. they don't last as there is so much twisting going on and the bushes just wear away in no time. had them on my old mk2 and wouldn't fit them again ( on the anti roll bar that is)

the eye bolt is 18mm aswell and the wishbone mount bushes are quite common to a lot of the smaller vws and seats anyway so you cant go wrong. the poly ones I had in my last mk2 didn't even last a year but the standard rubber ones I fitted to my current mk2 are still fine after a year. they really don't make a noticeable difference to the handling anyway.
