Title: mk4 gti key problem
Post by: dannyd126 on 30 December 2013, 15:17
Hi guys I have a slight problem with my mk4 gti. I have lost the key for it. Just wanted to know which is the best route to take. I can get in it as its unlocked. But what would be the cheapest route. Getting a new key cut and programmed or getting the locks and barrel changed?

key cut would be the best bet you might even find someone local to code the key in for you

Isnt there a certain code which is on the back of the original key to make sure it matches up to the immobiliser chip?

Can anyone tell me the process I would have to go through from buying a blank replacement key fob to getting it so it works with the car? Thankyou
