Post by: scottv6 on 27 December 2013, 18:44
went out today to do some runs with vagcom to find my boost problem, while out I blew the turbo
which ended in a cloud of white smoke.  before it went I managed to get some logs, can anyone shed some light on the graph and what problems there is please.

Overboosted

Actual vs specified should follow each other. It will spike above then it should come back and trace it

With 180k on the clock it was past its sell by date

Sticky vanes is the most likely cause

When you replace the turbo make sure you clean the intercooler out; renew the boost pipes (if not already done) and make sure the actuator is set up properly
