Title: Ouch engine mount dismantled itself
Post by: joshstanvw on 27 December 2013, 17:47
Hi all I was just pulling into my parking space at home I selected reverse then got a loud crack come from the engine bay and on closer inspection I found that the near side engine gearbox mount had cracked and broke in half and both bolts to the box side had broke I have removed the offending parts does anyone know if I can replace these with the parts from a 2.0 Gti
as a mate has one on his drive that is being scrapped?

Similar thing happened to me and I had my old 2l breaking.

My 1.8 is an AGU and the 2l mounts are the same as that.

My box fell onto the shaft but I don't think it broke anything. Will be upgrading it all anyway.
