Title: Air con pressure switch test?

Need to test the high/low pressure switch on a mk4 1.8t the switch is at the back of the bay and has a 3 pin plug on the back, was looking to bypass the switch to see it the compressor clutch kicks in, people have mentioned that you can bypass the switch with a paper clip to do a quick test, anyone tried this? which of the 3 do i short out (guess it will blow the climtronic fuse if i get it wrong?)
