Title: Brake lines for Cupra R Brembos
Post by: Winniee on 21 December 2013, 23:42
Getting my brembos back from refurb and paint and I need brake lines before I can put them. Was going to go braded lines but wanted to know if these are worth getting or what may be the best product to go for? And the direction I can be pointed in to go purchase them :)

Just got my brakes back and well impressed after I've put my stickers on:

Could do with some help on performance braided hoses and pipes if possible?

Also a recommendation of a nice big set of rear brakes?

Can't really find anything that will help me on there really?

Only need the pipes/hoses and was looking for a braided set.

All I got on that link was big brake setups.

Cheers

Ahh I'm with you. Should have been a bit clearer. I meant that would come off a TT/S3 etc.

Not specifically off them 2, they were examples. Just want a bigger set of brakes on the back that I can pick up.

I've just done exactly what you've done. Painted my brembo's blue. Just waiting on stickers. I went for some goodridge phantom braided lines. Your standard lines will be too short on full lock. As for rear brakes, why not go for the leon cupra r ones to match the fronts? The discs are only slightly bigger but theyre vented plus you'll be sticking with an oem bias, albeit for a lcr. No point going too big as your rears only account for about 30% of the total braking effort.

Can you link me to goodridge lines?

Also would this kit be worth getting? I also get braided lines with it then:

The backs aren't brembos though are they? Just grooved disks?

Found a set of rear leon cupra r brakes. Are they vented?

The lcr rears are just normal calipers. But they 256mm vented discs as apposed to the 232mm solid discs we get as standard. I got the hoses from demon tweeks, cant remember how much they were but I got fronts and rears.

That kit you linked is just a rebuild kit, body bolts, shim bolts and the link pipe that goes between the 2 halfs of the caliper.  Is it the solid section of pipe that comes out of the back of the caliper that you're after? Think you might have to go to the dealers for that.

That's what I need that was broken and need the brake hoses aswell.

£100 collected I got him down to on the back brakes? Sounds alright to me.

Just had a look around, from what I can see Hel brake lines would do the job. Give them a bell and ask if they could supply the lines with a 90 degree elbow and a m10x1.0 male thread on one end.

rear brakes on the Cupra R are the same as the Cupra, Anniversary and Skoda Octavia vRS.

DaveyB on ukmkivs did a 286mm kit for the rear using the 256mm caliper, it looks massive!

Probably S4 discs then. It's possible to redrill the discs and make a bracket up

Not come round to it yet no, just had a bit of a boost issue so been trying to work that out with some help off Bazzy. I'll have a look now. They're a bit bigger than the standard brembo stickers though.
