Post by: rfn_hodgson on 21 December 2013, 13:43
Hello fellas over the past few months my engine temp seems to be struggling to stay at 90

Could this be down to thermostat??

Thats a faulty thermstat, common problem and what usally happens is it wont get to 90 or you will notice it getting to 90 and when stopping dropping down to 75-80.

Ensure when you replace this that you ONLY use OEM part and you may as well change your temp sensor at the same time.

I've used circoli thermostats with no adverse effects. been in the car a few years with no problems.

My circoli one lasted 2 weeks, the issue is that they are hit and miss whereas main dealer parts generally aren't.

Does the temp gauge only hit 90 when you're sat in traffic?

Yes it does but when I'm say on the motorway it's drops down to about 50-70
Or even going 40 in 6th gear
