Title: Vag-com
Post by: 1 gti on 18 December 2013, 18:19
Does anyone know how to display miles to empty? Also, I'm sure I heard someone on here they could workout an estimate BHP using vag-com. Any help is much appreciated

You need immo3 clocks to enable MTE and it can be done with Vagcom.

As for working out BHP, you need to log MAF readings with vagcom

How do you check what clocks you got? Any guide on how to do it?

What year is the car? The only way to be certain is to check the part number which is on a sticker on the underside of the clocks

Have a look here:

Dom, you cannot code MTE with Vagcom, only vag techco can do that or so Ive been told.
You can however check what cluster you have using vagcom.

If you have the VDO immo 3 its done easyly with vagtechco if you have the Bosch immo 3 then you can't.

I stand corrected, I thought it could be done via vagcom

Can you remember what to do? I've done it once before but can't remember

For BHP take you're highest MAF reading and divide by 0.8

It's only a rough idea though

As above VAG Commander or VAG Tacho is needed to enable MTE and lit needles as you need to change some of the values in the EEPROM.
