my driver's side washer jets don't spray up as high on the winshield as they used to. the passenger side works fine. there is enough washer fluid. Is there anyway i can adjust the aim?or do i need a new pump...:(

Try clipping off a wire brush bristle and poking it down the holes to clear any built up crud.

Sounds like the jets may be slightly blocked. In the past I've used a piece of spring from the rear ashtray cover to poke down the jet. Another alternative that worked well for me was to remove the jet off the car, and put it in a jug of boiling hot water, softened all the crud and let it fall out.

One tip is carb cleaner, most have a thin nossle, take the jet off then blast it backwards i.e through the jets toward where the pipe goes. Never failed on me yet!

I've got a few sets ready to go (Mk3 OCD) do as Bellend says and blast some solvent down there, a good shoot with an airline afterwards helps as well.
A sewing needle or dress pin poked discreetly in the dash is essential motoring kit

Yeah pin then blast, trouble with just pinning it sometimes is the dirt comes straight back up.

Sorted it with a small safety pin. I was unaware thst you could position the jets and now they are no longer shooting over the windshield but right onto it...first time since I owned the car I can clean the windshield properly...and I always thought it was just faulty...:). Thank you very much guys!
