-
do you need to change the manifold with the ko3 hybrid i know you do with the ko4 i dont understand what the hybrid bit is or where i would get a ko3 hybrid from tried ebay cant find nothing would i need to change injectors maf housing ect to achieve that power with just the turbo??
-
depends what engine code you have...

aum
standard turbo an some supporting mods and some r-tech magic will see near 250bhp
-
Yeah but if he is replacing his turbo anyway it would make sense to go hybrid.
-
Where is the best place to get a hybrid k03 or k280 as I don't want to have to change my rods and how much would one set me back and with the tip hose do I need 3" or the same but uprated many thanks
-
I'm pretty sure beach buggy turbo's k280 uses a modified k03 comp housing, so you just need an uprated k03 tip. Manifold and downpipe fitting is the same, thats the whole point of a hybrid!

You wont need to change your rods unless you go around 340bhp or more

It's not the power that bends rods, it's the torque...

And rods have been known to bend at less than 300ft/lb

standard evo maybe
that depends. my neighbour has put load of stuff on an evo 5 and it still only makes 350bhp.
I also no a fella with an evo 7 that has a fully forged engine and that car is only making 360bhp

and spend loads of cash the evo will always be quicker round the bends though  but a member on here has an a3 running about 360bhp

I don't think the standard internals will last long with your spec tbh :undecided:
-
Yes he has H section rods in his AGU, standard pistons though
