They say they are selling it on behalf of a customer and have made revisions to the ad :-

It may be that they have interest elsewhere or have had an offer and have put the price up to a silly amount until they can consult with the owner to stop someone else buying it.

I often do this myself as i advertise my stuff in various other places apart from Ebay so if i get interest elsewhere i put the price up until i sell it elsewhere or not.If i do sell it elsewhere i can the revise the ad and put something else in it's place instead of paying to list again.

VW parts international, the guy (Gem Tang) that runs it also moderates the UK mk3 group on Facebook so he knows the price of parts and I've personally sold several items to him. There must be a reason its so bloody expensive other than greed...id hope anyway.

You'd be better off getting your handbrake cover retrimmed like I did- cheaper and brand new leather

Normally people jack the price up when there's no stock of the product.  That way when it comes back in stock they can relist for free rather than pay Ebay again for another ad... :smiley:
