Title: Cold weather is not the best...any tips?
Post by: Greenlight-Insurance on 10 December 2013, 09:03
Morning all,

It has happened a few times in the last week, as my golf gets cold I will start it and then it will start on the dot, no problem yet.

Then as soon as I put it in first gear it will choke a bit and the lights dim, it tries to stall itself?

I can catch it and then leave it for a few minutes to warm up and it runs fine...

I have cleaned the MAF sensor so far, and probably going to do the throttle body this weekend.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers in advance.

Dan

I had a similar issue last year and it was the coolant temp sensor. You need to get it scanned for fault codes really.

I was thinking of giving it a good run just before I swap it over, that seemed like a bit more of a challenge
