ok so earlier i was a little heavy handed and broke the (seat moving forward and back) cable plastic housing...... the cable is still intact but there is to much play in the cable for you to engage the locking mechanism.... :(
anyone know if this can be replaced/fixed ?

I did this the other day you will be needing access to a scrappy (or just buy the part new if u would prefer) take the seat out and you will see how it all comes apart it's fairly easy just be careful I broke the first one at the scrappy before slowly walking away to find another car to pull apart but yes the whole mechanism can be changed you can get one from basically any VAG motor of similar age mine is from a skoda Octavia vrs lol
