Had the EPC warning might come up on the dashboard today whilst driving along. I had to stop to put some fuel in and when I turned the engine back on it went out. Just wondering what it is whether it's a coil pack or something simple??
Just wondering whether it's worth taking it to VW or just taking it to a specialist??

Obviously im taking it in but I need to know whether or not to expect a big bill because right now not sure I can afford it.

Have you tried Google?
EPC actually stands for Electronic Power Control.
It refers to the drive-by-wire system and any faults with the throttle pedal, throttle body, traction control, cruise control, even the MAF will on occasion trigger the light.
It's also known for a stuck brake light switch to do this. Some brake light switches have two pairs of contacts in them, one for the engine and one for the brake lights.
You need to get your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them.

My EPC light kept coming on last year, very intermittent could be off for days and all of a sudden ping on again, car went into limp mode when the light was on, it was down to a dodgy throttle pedal, changed the pedal for a new one and never been on since,
If yours isn't going into limp tho ? I would say it's not the same fault ?

It doesnt go into limp mode, it only flicks on and has only done it twice. Ive spoken with a mechanic at a VW specialist where I work and he has said for me to run it in to him if it comes on again as its driving fine and no light on at the moment.
