Title: shocks,springs and coilovers

would the rear suspension from a 2002 aum engine code fit a 99 agu?? also would a car pass its mot if it had springs and shocks on the front and coilovers on the rear? if not then il get this set up from the aum..... got lowered springs for it, so what all would i need? shocks, springs and ???????      il have this car mot,d by the time i get home if it kills me,lol

Yes all the suspension is the same apart from the 4motion and yes it should pass MOT provided the setup isn't leaking, corroded etc. I wouldn't advise keeping it on there for long though, if you have to just get a cheap suspension setup, it will be better than having a load of mix and match parts

+1 on what wes said.

4mo and r32 have different suspension. all 2wd golfs have same suspension type.

so providing you buy for 2wd you will be fine.

as wes said, better to have matching shocks and springs. as for coilovers on front and springs and shocks on back, mk4s actually don't have coil over strut suspension on the back, its a separate spring and shock so technically a normal spring and shock set up is the same as the stuff provided in the coilover set up kits except you don't get the adjusting bases in spring and shock kits which you do in coilovers.
